Crème de Violette, also Liqueur de Violette (from French violette = violet), is the name for violet-blue or violet liqueurs with violet aroma. The name "Crème" indicates a high sugar content of the liqueurs; according to the EU spirits regulation in force today, at least 250 g per liter.

Crème de Violette is considered the forerunner of the liqueurs Parfait d'Amour and its American variation Crème Yvette, both of which also have a violet hue but differ in taste from Crème de Violette. In both, the delicate, floral violet aroma takes a back seat to citrus aromas, vanilla and spices, depending on the manufacturer, so that they are only of limited use as substitutes.
